Prayer Requests
Our pilgrims want to pray for you! Please submit your prayer requests by commenting on this post. We will be lifting you up in prayer during our time in Rio, but most especially during the closing mass with Pope Francis on the morning of July 28!
WYD Rio 2013: IndyCatholic Young Adults embark on an adventure!
In just a few days, 33 young adults will be heading off to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for World Youth Day, July 21-29. We will join hundreds of thousands young people from across the globe along with our Holy Father, Pope Francis! For months, we've been preparing, mentally, physically, and spiritually for this beautiful pilgrimage. You can stay connected with us, see our updates, and pictures by following this blog.
Why take this pilgrimage you ask?
One definition of a pilgrim is "a person who undertakes a journey to a scared place as an act of religious devotion." The Catechism states... "Pilgrmages evoke our earthly journey toward heaven and are traditionally very special occasions for renewal in prayer." (CCC 2691) Each of us has different hopes going into this, but I think it's safe to say that all of us are striving to know and love our Lord Jesus Christ more fully and to be inspired to live boldly the truth, beauty, and goodness of our faith! We bring our prayers and intentions in a very special way to this World Youth Day and pray that God pours out his graces upon his faithful!
Please pray for us! The power of prayer is beyond our full understanding, but I know with your help, this will be a fruitful experience for us all. Thank you and God bless!
